MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR THE ANIMALS
This
service was designed to comfort those who have lost a
beloved pet and to pay tribute to the love and
devotion they gave to us. Please feel free to
use it and modify it in any way you see fit.

Memorial Sharing of our Loved Ones
Each person is invited to share a memory about
the special giftedness of their friend and
companion. A picture or personal article may
be placed on the altar in their honor.

Prayers of the Faithful: Prayers for all the animals in the world and the atrocities committed against them. A leader repeats the prayers below, and group responds after each with an affirmation of same, such as "So Be It" or whatever is appropriate. Each person may add their own prayers to this list.
For animal species all over the world who are threatened with extinction because of hunting or the systematic destruction of the environment for profit, we pray
For those animals who have been killed and whose natural environment has been disrupted or destroyed by war, forest fires, and oil spills, we pray
For those animals used in scientific laboratory experiments and product-testing, we pray
That governments will legislate and enforce laws that protect all forms of life and recognize their inherent rights to live in peace upon the planet, we pray
For all domesticated animals, that they may be appreciated and treated humanely by those who are responsible for their welfare, we pray
That people everywhere may come to a greater understanding and appreciation of the animal kingdom and of its true spiritual nature, we pray
That people may learn to live in harmony with nature in all its forms, we pray
